At worst you’ll probably get more insight into company culture at each brand. There are many more; the stories of Anita Roddick and Max Factor are not as oft-told. Start reading Branded Beauty: It would be very interesting to learn the story behind cosmetic brands. As a marketing professional working with a lot of these brands, I also appreciated some of the working culture insights Tungate shared.

Tungate covers a vast array of topics including: Reading this book was like walking through a museum you weren’t intending to visit. Chapters that discuss the rising popularity of tattooing, cosmetic surgery, digital marketing, and ethical and sustainable products are of particular interest and could be useful in forecasting trends.

Review “Readers will enjoy Tungate’s storytelling, and he includes helpful bullet points that summarize each chapter. So, the innovations are also a gimmick. Or maybe rich isn’t the right word, but it’s very thorough without giving me data overload. Sounds like a very interesting read!
